Description: Very fine Russian Period Occasional Table. Possibly Russian Jacob. Circa 1810. Birch wood and bronze mounted table having one drawer under an octognal top. The top supported by a bronze inlaid center pole standing on a tripod bronze ribbed group of legs on a support base. A wonderful example of a Russian Table from the period. Fresh from a fine Park Avenue Residence. Jacob furniture was named after the famous French cabinet maker Georges Jacob. Its characteristics are the exclusive use of mahogany with inlaid brass geometric shapes.
