Description: Signed and dated in pencil lower right: "Fogel 1933". In fine condition on stabilized tissue with repaired corners. After studying at the Art Students League, Fogel caught the eye of Diego Rivera who invited him to work on the 'Man at the Crossroads' mural at Rockefeller Center in New York. He would go on to create nearly a dozen WPA murals around the United States - from New York to Washington, D.C. to Arizona. 'We Want Bread Not Bullets' would likely have been a study for a potential mural.
