Description: A magnificent vintage late 19th century elegant Louis XV ormolu mounted & brass inlaid wooden bracket clock. This French time piece has a key wind movement & an hourly & half hourly striking chime bell. The face of the clock has dimensional blue on white enamel Roman numerals representing the hours. Surrounding these are dimensional black on white Arabic numerals identifying each five minute interval. Both the Roman & the Arabic representations protrude from decorative more' bronze framing. Behind a hinged glass door, the enamel dial reads "Gille L'aine', Paris. The gilt bronze frame of the clock is elaborately designed with floral scrolls, winged serpents & a goddess. A gilt bronze sculpted cherub serves as the finial atop the clock case & is part of a detachable bonnet. There is a deity designed pendulum surrounded by the clock's patterned brass inlaid interior. A case key & clock key are present &, although the clock is in working condition, it may require a cleaning, service etc. to keep accurate time.
