Description: Etching. Framed: 15 x 17 inches. Walpi is a Hopi village established around 900 CE. located east of the Grand Canyon in Navajo County, northern Arizona. It is an example of traditional Hopi stone architecture, used for their historic pueblos built at defensive locations on the mesa tops.
Condition Report: Well preserved in frame, linen liner, silver fillet.
Notes: Jack van Ryder (1899-1968) was a well known Tucson artist, ranch hand, and cowboy who traveled and worked throughout the west and studied art with Charlie Russell in Montana.
