Description: A Set of Ten Antique Continental Gilt & Enameled Glass Footed Dessert Bowls, Early-Mid 20th Century; likely Bohemian or Italian. Of circular shape, the bowls supported on a short stem with circular foot; the exterior painted with three reserves containing roses surrounded by gilt foliate scrolls, with gilt bands along the rim, foot, and base of the stem. Unmarked.

Condition Report: Light wear to paint and some surface scratches. Three plates have a white paint spot adhered to surface, and one plate has some light green paint along 1" of the rim - possibly a repair. Otherwise the bowls are in very good condition.

Description: Antique Georgian Period French Silver Mounted Faux Tortoiseshell Snuff Box, 18th C. France. Of oval form, the surface of the cover decorated with embossed landscape scene with naively rendered buildings flanking a three-masted ship set within a flower and scroll patterned border, the surface with traces of silver inlay. The box fitted with hand engraved French silver rims, raised thumbpiece and stand away hinge, the back edge of the inside rim stamped with French dog’s head (a pointer) discharge mark (tax paid) used in Paris, Circa 1762-1768 (possibly apocryphal). Otherwise unmarked.

Condition Report: The box has been extensively restored. The base of the case appears to have been re-attached and there is a crack visible along the interior just above the bottom rim. There are numerous small patches visible along the sides and edges of the hinged cover and base along with some small chips/losses to the edge of the back rim on the cover. There is some scratching/wear to the silver mounts which appears to have been re-attached and the majority of the silver inlay to the cover's design is missing. Overall, the box is in fair condition.

American, Mid 20th Century.Elijah Silverman (American, 1910 - 1994) created an enormous body of work throughout his 60-year career as an artist in New York. Silverman studied anatomy, life drawing and painting at the Art Students League under George Bridgman, Alexander Abels, and Vaclav Vytlacil between 1926-1947. Throughout this period he also took lessons from Lucien Bernhard, Arthur Schweider and Hans Hofmann. Early in his career Silverman received the Wanamaker Gold Medal for drawing in 1923 and 1924. He would later receive publication in the New York Sun, New York Times, Art Digest, American Artists Magazine, and Journal of the Print World. Throughout the 1930s to the 1970s, the features of his art were taken from the New York Subway system. Exhibitions include the Montross Gallery, the exhibit Brooklyn Painters and Sculptors at Artists Gallery, several annual exhibitions with the Brooklyn Society of Artists Juried Shows at the Brooklyn Museum, and the Eisenhower Hall West Point-Retrospective in 1993. Posthumous exhibitions were held at the Woodstock School of Art and Belskie Museum.

Description: A 4 Piece Antique Elkington English Engraved Silver Plate Tea and Coffee Set, Late 19th-Early 20th C. England. The set is composed of a teapot, a coffee pot, a creamer, and a sugar. The pieces are densely ornamented and have beaded rims. The teapot, creamer, and sugar appear to be in the same pattern, while the coffee pot is slightly different. All piece are monogrammed with "CB" on one side and "AKR 1911" on the other. The undersides have the maker's mark as well as the following inscription: "Belonged to her Grandmother Cornelia Brady."

Condition Report: Overall, the set is in good condition with appropriate signs of age. Light tarnishing. The teapot has one 0.5" x 0.5" dent, and the teapot's handle is slightly loose. A few cracks in the white mounts on either end of the two pots' handle.
