1. Early White Painted Cabinet

Description: Cottage Chic at it's finest! Resting just inside the farmhouse foyer, it sat. The days keys could always be found there, along with the mail. Someone put a fresh coat of paint on her years ago while smartly stripping the top of the chippy paint where the keys would slide and land for the night. A strong oak fixture from which you could create a dresser by placing a mirror above.  Cut a hole in the top and a county cottage sink awaits. Dimensions 34w x 18d x 28h inches.

2. Painted Oval Table

Description: Rose placed the envelope on the table. She ran her slender finger across the moistened seal. She was mailing a letter to her great Aunt Edith who lived on an island in the tropics. Edith had left the small chippy, peely floral motif cottage table in Rose's care along with numerous other items when she made the bold move of moving across the world to paradise. Rose loved the table, as she did her Aunt Edith. "Aunt's are special," Rose thought to herself remembering it was "crazy" Aunt Edith who really taught her to drive a car and drink liquor. Not at the same time, though the relatives wouldn't have found that terribly surprising. Edith was always a "black sheep." She followed a different drummer and that's why Rose loved her so much. After all, Aunt Edith was swimming with dolphins and the pigs in Exuma, while the rest, well, they just sat around in their cracker box houses in the old steel mill town, wondering what happened to their lives. Meanwhile, down in the islands, Edith danced, drinking coconut libation under a full moon laughing! We're not saying if you buy this table, you will end up in the islands, but you may experience the courage of an adventurer and the  energy of a fun old lady! Dimensions 28w x 20d x 25.5 h

4. Red Painted Station Clerk's Desk

Description: Any Whistlestop USA... An early crackled, 2 drawer table sits in the center of the old station. Pickled paint of multiple colors remained from the years of ticket taking and baggage check in. Vines grow through what was once the windows of a bustling stop on the C & O southern line. Walking across the floor, the shards of Nehi and Sundrop bottles left littered there by the hobos, transients and town rowdies crunch underfoot. The sun shines on the bottle debris and the glass looks like ice. A train hadn't stopped at this station in many a year. When the wind blows just so, one can still hear the faint cry of a lonely whistle and we find ourselves transported to a simpler time. A time when clocks and watches had hands and messages were sent by telegram rather than text. Dimensions  33.5 w x 20 d x 30 h in.

10. Two Galvanized Metal Tubs

Description: It was Halloween night in 1969. There was an autumn chill in the air in this Mid-West prairie town. The pre-teen girls were having a Halloween slumber party and lots of festivities had been planned including apple bobbing. Annie hadn't ever heard of such a thing, but after watching the process, she dove into the large galvanized tub filled with water and apples, head first. She retrieved one, then two, then three apples, coming up to release them and catch her breath, she bobbed in again and again. In record time, she plucked all twelve "Red Delicious" apples from the water. Soaked and teeth chattering, her adrenaline was high as she collected the  grand prize. Meanwhile, the parents looked on as they bobbed there mugs in their own galvanized tub that rested over a low burning wood fire. Their's was a steamy cauldron of  hot buttered rum. That's just how versatile these tubs are! The two tubs being sold are 22" in diameter. There is a small hole in the center of the second one in the photo. You can bet that wasn't the one with the hot buttered rum. Not into apple bobbing or rum consumption? These tubs make a nice center table placed upside down with a piece of round glass atop, or leave right side up and display your sculptures below the glass top. Heck fill them with ice, cold beverages or rubber ducks! There uses are endless, the choices, yours!

13. Vintage Sunflower Yellow Trash Can

Description: It was said that Ernestine "buttered her bread on a different side." Perhaps she did. She saw the world through rose colored glasses and from that, she was a kinder soul than many. She had a beautiful flower garden inside her picket fence from which she graced her neighbors with bouquets weekly. As sweet and gentle as she was known to be, Ernestine had a strange obsession with and fretted about her trashcans. She worried sick that someone would steal them or perhaps clip them with an automobile going round the curve. More than once, she had lost sleep over this worrisome matter. One night, when the yipping from the passing coyotes woke her, she had a "Eureka" moment. Ernestine arose before dawn that next morning and went to the little garden paint shed and retrieved some sunflower yellow paint that she had left from painting some old flower pots. She grabbed a brush and painted those gray galvanized cans the most luscious yellow. The sun was rising in the sky as she finished and she stood back to admire her work.  About the time, Ol' Jake drove by with his window down. "Hey Ernie", lots of townsfolk called her that for short, those are by far the finest looking trash cans I've ever laid eyes on," Jake  hollared. Then he took a deep breath and circled back around and said, "But they ain't nothin compared to the girl standing next to them." Ernestine blushed and her smile and crimson cheeks lit up Jakes world. "Want to come in for coffee?" she asked. "Yes ma'am, I sure do," Jake answered. Jake owned the local hardware and what-not store. He said, "I have an idea, why don't you paint these cans in all kinds of flower colors and I'll put them in the store?" Ernestine smiled and fanned herself with her tissue. "I'd be honored to. Do you think anyone would buy them?""I know they will" Jake answered as he reached over and touched her hand. He thought to himself as his heart fluttered, I'm going to make this trashcan paintin' woman mine. That he did six months later and when they drove away from the chapel , what do you think followed the souped up pick up down the road? Three trash cans tied to the back clanging and banging in the three top colors: Sunflower Yellow, Rambunctious Rose and Beauty Berry Purple!  This can comes with it's original lid and is marked  Lid: "32 GAL WITT US 1961" Dimensions 21 x 30 in
